Magnificent Seven ficathon

Just gauging the interest for an M7 ficathon.

I love writing fic, but it's hard to get motivated/inspired sometimes. What helps me the most is a challenge, because then I have direction and the stress of a deadline. Also, ficathons are so much fun *g*

The general idea would be this: participants sign up and nominate two requests for fic. (Two requests are to make it easier to allocate writers, in case one of the requests is too difficult to fill.) They also nominate what they like to write and what they won't write. After the sign up date, each person's request is allocated to another participant to fulfil. There's a deadline for the fics, and at the nominated date, each participant posts the fic they've written for someone else, and gets to read the fic someone's written for them.

I would love to do this ... BUT ... this is exactly the type of thing my muse refuses to do. If I say I'm going to do something for someone, the muse (wanker that he is) puts on the brakes, and refuses to write.

And you know what, I'm going to tell him to feck off.

I have only one question before doing this requests:

What are the genres would it be? I mean i love Ezra angst fic both Gen and Slash, but i don't love Het.

I'm hoping it'd be all inclusive. That is, no restrictions on requests (and that's why people would have to submit 2, just in case their preference #1 isn't able to be filled from the pool of writers) but people would be able to specify what they won't write. That is, you can say that you won't write het, deathfic or NC17 (for example), and you won't be allocated a request for a fic that calls for anything on your "won't write" list.

Oh, goodie, my fantasy comes true, poor the girl who have this, cause my bunnies are back full time, and i want to read a very angsty with surprise warning as in my request.

yeah, I have to ditto Ms_Artisan here - I'd love to read the story too (I'm all about dark!) And I actually sort of thought that was canon anyway, at the very least that he drank a whole lot and had a violent temper. Yes yes, please do post your stories!!!!!

Gah, Kayim (is that why the ficathon stories disappeared off your site? I'd wondered). had something similiar happen. Actually went to one of those fan get-togethers and one of the gals I was riding in a car with (I was driving *snort*) started complaining and making fun about a story where Chris was possessed by a demon and killed Vin and how horrible she thought it was, yada, yada. I turned to her and said that I was the author and I liked it. It's why I wrote it. She stayed the hell away from me for the rest of the weekend. It was great. Intolerance always bites the dust. LOL!

I'm sorry to hear you had a bad experience :( If you're comfortable with it (and willing!) it'd be great to see you take part, and something could be added to the rules to hopefully avoid a repeat performance. Although I'm still very much a newbie in this fandom, I'm finding that everyone's been lovely. I'm sure there are many more nice people than not in the fandom, and all the nice people would love to see your fic *g*

Sorry to hear about that; there are a few very focused fans in Mag 7 that don't always like to see the dark parts of the characters. You and Siluria did a fantastic job with the ficathon and those are some terrific stories. I would be thrilled if you could write in the ficathon.
