Okay - I spent two hours last night trying to get this to post to my journal properly and it wouldn't, so I'm giving y'all the set up here and the link to the story on the DnF website.  LJ cuts and italics don't seem to want to go together . . . .

Universe: AU – The Seven cross-over into the Pegasus galaxy.  The universe is Stargate Atlantis, even though there are no characters (yet) from that show.

Spoilers: Pretty much all eps through season three of SGA that reference the Big Bad

Summary: What does it mean to be human?

Rating: R, partly for suggestion, nothing explicit

Warnings: violence, child abuse, torture, references to lots of the darkness of the Pegasus galaxy

Title: Waiting In True Purgatorio

Warning: This is an “afterlife” fic.
Summary: The guys, with the exceptions of JD and Buck are waiting in Purgatory, the real thing, to be reborn. One of their entertainments is to watch the “Life Television” to observe what’s going on in real life back on Earth. JD and Buck are favorite subjects and everyone’s favorite channel.
Author’s Note: Although you don’t have to have read a single word of my other work, this is actually a spoof of my dark au but without the ickiness and with 85% more humor. The idea of the au is that Vin, after a life of crime, has decided everyone but JD and Buck (who are working for law enforcement) are too bad to continue in this world so those two are the only ones left alive when he’s done. It’s his idea that Buck and JD can live good lives and somehow help the rest of them be reborn into better lives, full of goodness. Maybe he didn’t think the whole thing through as well as he should have...


WAITING IN TRUE PURGATORY

“Hit me.”

“You have no idea how tempting that is, Mr. Larabee,” drawled Ezra, gold tooth gleaming.

Scowling at Ezra for a moment, Chris finally looked down at his hand. “One of these days, stacking the deck will get you shot.”

Chuckling, Ezra looked around the table at the others, merry eyes twinkling. “Big deal. In case you haven’t noticed, we don’t get to die again until we are reborn.”

“Which doesn’t look like any time soon,” muttered Josiah, sitting over by the Life Television. He took another sip of whiskey and a drag on his cigar, shaking his head, wearily.

“Well,” sighed Vin, arranging the cards in his hands with a frown. “At least we can count on Buck. He’ll set things right for us. Him and JD.”

“Huh,” grunted Chris in disbelief, then hid behind his cards at Vin’s hurt look.

“Not like this, he won’t,” warned Josiah under his breath but the sound of it carried to the players at the table, who all glanced over, various stages of interest on their faces.
