Interested in joining a Magnificent 7 episode re-watch?

Some of us have been with the fandom for years. Some of us have only recently discovered the joy of the M7 fandom. This is a chance for everyone to watch the episodes together - reliving the excitement of rediscovering each episode for old fans, and getting to experience the fun of watching each episode with other fans for the first time if you're a new fan.

The tentative schedule is one episode a week. On the nominated day, someone will post a discussion starter and then things can start happening in the comments!

Thought the characterisation was spot-on (or completely off)? Found the side plot particularly poignant? Loved Ezra's outfit? Thought Vin's one-liner was the best comeback ever? Share your thoughts!

Also, if there's interest, there could be posts for screencaps and icon and fic challenges relating to each episode.

It'd be a great way to meet other fans (helpful if you're new to the fandom like me!) and more M7 discussion (and screencaps and fic and icons) can only be good for the world :)

Tentative starting date would is 6 July, but everything is flexible.

I just watched the theatrical trailer for The Magnificent Seven movie, and I thought that line from it really corresponds with the characters on the TV show. When you first look at them, it's hard to really see why they would want the job of protecting the town. But when we start to learn about their personal histories, it seems that most of them are trying to start fresh, or make amends for something in their past. That's something that I really never thought about before, I'm not sure why. I just found that interesting and thought I would share it here! 

I also thought it would be interesting to take some of the audio from the trailer, and use it to make a trailer for the TV show. I might do it someday, but if someone else wants to use the idea, feel free!

Thanks to everyone who indicated their interest to the Magnificent 7 re-watch. This is going to be so much fun!

The general consensus has been:

• One episode a week


• Discuss the episodes in the order of airing (and the discussion can be 'lead' by the first person to post for the week) - the order of Serpents and Obsession yet to be determined


• Everyone's interested in discussion, and a good number of people are interested in challenges


• A new community would be more convenient

The starting date for the discussion of 1x01 "Ghosts of the Confederacy" will be Sunday 13 July so there's plenty of time to spread the word and get things up and running.

In the meantime, we'd love the help of someone (or a few people) to:

• Make an LJ layout for the community


• (It'd be good if the layout had tags, looked pretty and worked with browsers in addition to IE (Safari, for instance, since that's what I use *G*)


• Make a banner for the community to use as the header


• Make banner/s which could be used to promote the community

If you can help, please let me know in the comments. If you can help with the LJ layout, let me know and I'll make you a maintainer of the community so you can have access to work your magic with the code.

Also, if you have any suggestions about what you'd like to see in the community/ideas for discussions, etc, please put your thoughts in the comments.

More will be revealed once the layout's done and the community is up and running!
