Seeing as people are promoting the other Mag7 actors, I might as well promote the Mag7 actress. The first promo pic of Laurie Holden's (Mary) upcoming horror flick, Silent Hill, in which she'll be playing police officer Cybil Bennett. Not the leading role, but a visible one, so let's hope this one will get her up there with the stars, where she belongs. The game series the movie is based on has cult status, so the movie is bound to be at least some kind of a success. Maybe not a blockbuster, but still, the Silent Hill fandom is one of the most rabid fandoms there is. Expect to see Laurie in the magazines soon.

Oh, yeah, this is Jonna from my new journal. Hi! :)

Hey, chica, we haven't heard from you for awhile. I've missed ya.

I can recognize Laurie in the two "red carpet" pictures, but the shot from the fil doesn't resemble her at ALL. Other than the blonde hair.

Yep, Laurie does look much too thin. It's a little hard to judge in a still if it's the "healthy" kind of thin that comes with training or the not so healthy kind that comes from an eating disorder. In any case, in that movie shot she's definitely looking downright skinny.

As for what Mary might have to say about Chris's last answer...well, he'd probably be interested in hearing her reaction if she happened to hear what he said...::grin:: Now, in her answer when she talked about having a man around to nag, he couldn't help putting himself in that picture. In fact I just might write a little response to that part if I can get my left arm to cooperate. I've been dealing with a very stiff and sore elbow that's making typing a little tiring. It's getting better, slowly. Have NO idea what I did to it to cause this, either, which is frustrating. I have to sleep with a pillow under the arm to baby it or it gets worse. I even wore a sling for a couple of days. Yeesh.

So I'll be reading more than writing for a while yet.

But I thought that the interaction is what the Magnificent Muses community is for...::wide, innocent eyes::

And besides, Chris has his own journal. I haven't used it for anything yet, but it's chris_larabee, as you might expect. Well, no one ELSE was using that userID, so I figured I might as well grab it....

Arm is feeling a lot better today. I have a better than 90 degree angle bend ability going now. For a couple of days it was about 30 degrees at most. Thursday morning I was seriously considering a trip to the emergency room. But then it started getting better, slowly. It's been a real problem because some of the things that I do to take care of my trach are clumsy at best with only one hand able to reach my neck, or take any pressure on the elbow. I'm hoping that I'll be healthy enough on Thursday this week to go to a movie. It's been well over a year since I've had the chance, and I'm dying to see "Serenity."

No reason why Billy can't speak up for himself on the Muses. I don't think kayim would mind, since he's kind of a secondary character connected to Mary. (I wonder what he'd have to say about the idea of his hero kissing his mom...::grin::)

Arm is feeling much better. I'm still using it carefully, and I can't quite straighten it all the way, but whatever it is that started all this seems to be going away. It's kind of hard for me to see a doctor since it means a trip to the county hospital emergency room, and THAT can mean a wait of hours. A lot of hours.

"Serenity" is a kind of Western-in-space science fiction movie that is getting great reviews, both from the critics and the fans, and I'm dying to see it. I haven't seen a film in the theater since "Lord of the Rings: Return of the King" early last year. I feel fine today, the arm is getting better fast, so I think I'm going to make it this time. Fingers crossed on that one.

Oh, I had a ball doing the RP, too. It's been a long time since I've had a chance to stretch those brain cells.

"Serenity" was definitely worth it, despite the fact that the stress of being out of bed that long has landed me in bed with a slight fever and aching muscles. Looks like I'll be missing my dad's birthday party at their church. Not that I was especially looking forward to it, but attendance was mandatory.

Anyway, the movie was definitely a "western in space," with good guys and bad guys, but the good part was sometimes the bad guys did something good, and the good guys did something bad. It had a lot of humor, but in no way was it a comedy. Just what I'd expect of the writer/director, Joss Whedon, who is known here for his two cult TV series, "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" and "Angel." I don't know how much American TV gets shown over there, but those two series were favorites of mine. He also created a TV series called "Firefly," that was actually the series that spawned "Serenity," even though it didn't last very long. I never saw the series, but I'm renting them on DVD now to see what I missed.

More info than you needed. Anyway, it was a really fun movie.

The arm is almost back to normal, but I'm still being careful with it. I really don't want that kind of pain happening again.
