Well, a live chat could be loads of fun, if we could find some way of holding it were my system won't crash out--for some reason I've never had luck staying in a chat room without my computer objecting to it. The other problem could be WHEN to have one to accomodate everyone. I can show up any old time, since my sleeping patterns are irregular at best, but we literally hae a world-wide fandom here, so picking a time could be tricky.
How would a message board differ, really, from the community here on LJ?
I was thinking more along the lines of IRC chat. It wouldn't require a lot off anyone's computer and it would be real-time and available 24/7. At peak times, the more popular channels can have hundreds of fans on at any given time, though I'm certainly not expecting that of Mag7. Or who knows. :)
A message board wouldn't really differ, but it would be more user friendly - not that LJ isn't, it's just very hard to sort through messages sometimes when you're looking for a specific post and topics could be categorized.

Just random ideas. :)
