Warning: Death of one of the Seven, which one you can probably guess from the title.

Author's Note: This is a weekend of firsts: my first drabble attempt ever.

I Ain't Afraid

Shouting for Nathan, Chris pulled Vin’s limp body into his lap and up against his chest with his unwounded arm to ease the bleeding man‘s breathing. Blood leaked from the side of Tanner’s mouth. Just a meandering little stream but he knew what it meant and steeled himself for when it happened.

Vague blue eyes opened, having trouble focusing on his face. “I ain’t afraid of it,” vowed the gravelly voice, made more hoarse with the blood in his throat. “See ya soon, cowboy.”

Chris felt his throat constrict with grief. “How will I find you?”

“I’ll wait for ya.”

And delphia2000, I took your advice and wrote one killing off Chris, just for balance! *wink*

Oh, Vin! Oh, Chris! So achingly sad, and so in character for both of them. Heartbreaking but lovely.
