Another New Voice

Hi.

It just occured to me that there might be other people out there who love the Mag7 series as much as I always have, and what do you know? Here you are.

A quick introduction--my name is Kristeen, but I prefer Kris if that's not taken. I'm almost undoubtedly older than anyone else here at 48 years, but years are only a number. I can get a crush harder than anything any teenager has ever seen. I live in Southern California, in a suburb of Los Angeles called Torrance, a small city full of shopping malls and too danged many real estate brokers. I live at home with my almost-90-year-old father and my older sister. Don't see much of Dad--he spends most of his time with his fiancee. (Talk about being optimistic.)

And I just spent over seven months in the hospital recovering from some major malfunctions of the almost-carcass here. (Last October they told my sister to "be prepared" and asked me if I wanted heroic measures. That made me mad, and I began to recover almost immediately. Amazing what the mind can do.) So if I sometimes appear a little behind the times you can remember that I was living in a virtual cave for the better part of a year.

Better now, but can't walk yet. Progress being made there--to be continued.

Now, as for Mag7 (excellent abbreviation there.) I always loved the original movie (the Western, not the Samurai flick, although I've seen that too.) I was curious when I heard about the series, but when I found out it was starring Michael "the guy with the eyes" Biehn I was hooked. Then I found out about Ron "looks better in Vincent makeup but has a voice that can melt butter" Perlman as well, and that cemented my loyalties even before I saw the show. And then--WOW. What a feast of masculine beauty they laid before us all! Once I picked myself off the floor and began to actually watch the pilot, I got a huge kick out of the story adapted from the original, as well as the quick outlines of each character, making them instantly distinct and interesting. What do you know--good TV and all the things that make life worth living. Gorgeous men, lovely landscape, horses....

(I've been a little horse crazy...make that very horse crazy since I was a kid, so if I occasionally mention Chris's fine black or Buck's personable grey, forgive me. Horses make me almost as weak in the knees as Michael Biehn.)

I noticed Vin right away. Love the character and his background, really love looking at him. Yummy.

Ezra makes me laugh. They combined at characteristics of at least three of the original Seven in his portrayal. Including Robert Vaughn's character, in fact. I love the fact that they brought him aboard as a recurring character. I've always loved these little symmetrical loops.

I get a big kick out of the relationship between J.D. and Buck, the Abbot and Costello of the Old West. Buck makes my ovaries jump too, as the saying goes--I don't normally go for facial hair, but his moustache can tickle my lips anytime.

How I do go on--better shut up now before I've left nothing else to talk about. One question--I have been reading that some of you write fanfic. Where can I find it to read it?
